As I Lay Me Down To Sleep (Part 1 of 2)

As I Lay Me Down To Sleep

What do we usually do before we sleep at night?

What do you do before you go to sleep at night? I don’t mean brush your teeth and change into your nice blue pajamas with the little white sheep on.

I mean what do you do in your head? Do you think about anything specific? The next day? The day you’ve just got through? Fear? Hope?

Or do you tap into an incredibly powerful part of you and set it to work? So that it gets the whole night to work on things for you? So when you wake up you have answers to questions you asked?

I bet you’d like to know how to do that wouldn’t you? Well, the good news is, it’s simple, so easy, even I can do it!

Ok, I’ll tell you … here’s the secret.

The best thing that we can do

When you go to sleep at night, it is only your conscious mind that sleeps. Your sub-conscious mind keeps on working. If it went to sleep, you’d have a few problems as it controls important things like your breathing and heart!

So naturally, it keeps working and is “awake” all night long. Now your sub-conscious mind just happens to be rather good at processing information. And connecting random dots to make works of art.

So when you go to sleep, focus your mind on the things that are bothering you. Then ask your sub-conscious mind to help.

Naturally, I decided I was going to experiment with this on myself and see what it would do. For a number of weeks I used to say this to myself every single night. Whenever I put my head on the pillow. Just before I went to sleep.

An Age Old Secret For Accessing Knowledge (Part 1 of 4)

Continuation:

When you are ready to do the Expert’s Head exercise, prepare yourself by deeply relaxing your body and your mind. Take some time to get comfortable in a place where you will not be disturbed.

Internally scan your body for tension, and allow your muscles to relax. Breathe calmly and smoothly in a relaxed way.

Now think

Is there a particular place where you would like to meet your imaginary expert? You might want to meet this guide in your own home, but feel free to imagine another site.

For example, you could visualize meeting in a beautiful garden, in a forest, on top of a mountain, or some other location.

You can improve your ability to visualize imaginatively by speaking out loud your inner impressions to a tape recorder, or to another person.

Eventually, even the slightest glimmer of imagination will be reinforced and amplified by consistent practice of this exercise.

If you are not yet able to easily imagine a location in which to meet your chosen expert, don’t worry. Simply move forward to the imagined encounter with this person, whenever you are ready.

The imaginary encounter

Your imaginary encounter may go exactly as planned, or there may be surprises in store for you. Perhaps someone you weren’t expecting shows up.

Perhaps your chosen expert does not want to participate. If no one appears in your mind’s imagination, ask for someone to come forward, and then wait.

When your imaginary guide appears, handle the encounter with as much politeness and respect as you would a real life encounter with a real person. Do you feel comfortable in the presence of this expert? Do you have the sense that the expert feels comfortable with you?

Even if these guides are figments of your inner mind, you still need to be sure you are accessing a part of yourself that wants to promote only the best for you.

An Age Old Secret For Accessing Knowledge (Part 1 of 4)

An Age Old Secret For Accessing Knowledge Revealed

The human mind has boundless potential. And humans have been exploring many ways to use the mind for thousands of years. There is an old age secret for accessing knowledge.

The following technique of visualization can help you acquire new knowledge and skills more quickly than with conventional techniques.

Over the centuries, human beings have developed many techniques to gain access to their inner wisdom and improve learning. One technique that many people have found very beneficial is to have an imaginary guide that they can call on for advice and insight.

The Einstein Factor

A modern variation of this technique has been developed by intelligence researcher Dr. Win Wenger.  You can find details in his book “The Einstein Factor

This exercise is sometimes called “Putting on the Expert’s Head”

This technique enables you to access some of the enormous untapped potential that resides in the mind of every individual. This technique can even accelerate your ability to develop a new skill. It gives you access to parts of yourself that you are normally not aware of.

The first step is to decide what knowledge or skill you would like to develop in yourself. What are you interested in that you would like to do better? You might wish to improve your skill at archery, portrait painting, doing mathematics, or playing a musical instrument.

Once you have decided what skill or knowledge you would like to develop, take some time to think about those people you consider an expert in this chosen field. Whose skills do you admire? Who do you think of as a great role model and expert in the field?

The person need not be currently living. Before you move ahead with this exercise, you may wish to research the life of the person you have chosen.

You might even decide you want to see the world from the perspective of your favorite animal or bird, such as a wolf or an eagle.

Continuation:

Choosing a positive attitude is a process. We don’t just choose it once and expect everything to be perfect from that moment on. We will still experience setbacks, delays, accidents, frustrations, arguments, fatigue, and fear.

To reiterate, it is our choice

The secret is how we choose to react to these experiences. Do we want to let them ruin our day? Do we choose to pick ourselves up and look hopefully to the future again? We do have the power to choose.

You may be asking what the point of a positive attitude is. If we’ll still experience negative circumstances, why bother with choosing a positive attitude?

Ah, that’s the true beauty of the creative process. What we choose to focus on the most, we create in our lives.

By choosing a positive attitude each day, we are actually attracting more positive experiences. Thus, reducing the likelihood of negative experiences.

You may have noticed that each experience often determines the quality of the next experience. This almost always causing a chain reaction in our lives. If one little thing goes wrong, it can throw off our plans for the rest of the day.

In this context, it’s easy to see how a positive attitude would be powerful. Rather than allowing one little thing to ruin our day, we would be able to shrug it off and continue on without a hitch.

Over time, this resiliency begins to strengthen and empower us, which will show through in our demeanor. We begin attracting people and experiences that more closely match our attitude.

Before we know it, out lives eventually transform into more positive, fulfilling expressions of joy.

And it all begins with a little thing called attitude!

Again, this is a process, so go easy on yourself if you’re trying to adopt a more positive attitude. Simply focus on developing a stronger awareness of your attitude moment to moment in your daily experiences.

Begin choosing a more positive one more often. It takes time to realize the full benefits of this type of mindset, but it is time well-spent.

Before you know it, you’ll be one of those people you used to admire for their tenacity and strength. Your life will transform in amazing ways.
