Be A Juggernaut Of Goal Achievement

Be a juggernaut

Key to success

Setting goals is one of the most important keys to achieving success. Did you know that less than 3% of people have written goals? Studies have shown that the most successful people are the ones who have specific, written goals.

Setting a goal is not like a New Year’s resolution. That is just a wish. Just wishing and hoping for something isn’t going to make it happen. Setting a goal is having a target to shoot for and a plan to get there.

When planning your goals, choose which categories you would like for your goals. Establish the time frame. They could be lifetime goals, 10 year, 5 year, 1 year, 6 month, 3 month, 1 month or weekly goals.

Also you can have ongoing goals, such as exercising 3 – 5 times a week.Be specific when you write your goals. Don’t just write down “I want to lose weight.” Write “I will weigh 180 pounds by July 2020.

Make sure your goal statement is positive

Don’t say, “I don’t want to be fat.” Say “I will be a healthy 130 pounds by May 2007.The achievement of a worthwhile goal can seem daunting at first. The easiest way to proceed is to break your goal down into smaller steps.

Start with the first step then move onto the next. When making your plans, a good way is to start is from the end part and work your way to the present.

Measure your progress

After you complete a step, check it off. Watching steady progress is a good motivator. A simple example could be if your goal was to be able to do 100 continuous push-ups, you could mark off the milestones of 25, 50, 75, 80, and finally 100!

Don’t be discouraged by setbacks

All successful people experience setbacks, disappointments, and failure along the way. That’s just part of the process. That’s part of learning. Many times these act as course corrections to get you back on target.

Program your mind

There are several success principles used in goal achievement. One is properly programming your mind. You need to review your goal morning and at night before you go to bed.

Have your goal written on a 3 x 5 card so you can review during the day. At night, ask your subconscious mind for solutions to problems, and methods or tools for helping you achieve your goal.

Persistence

Another important principle is that of persistence. No one has enjoyed great achievement without persistence.

It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up

Babe Ruth

Do something everyday towards your goal. A day’s action puts you one step closer to your objective. Doing something everyday creates a momentum that is hard to stop.

When it comes to achieving your goals, you need to think of yourself as a huge, monolithic juggernaut! Moving relentlessly toward your objective. Unstoppable!

The Rewards of Reading

Learning

What have you been reading lately?

When was the last time you read a book?

Are you a wide reader?

Everyone can tell

In a gathering, you can tell who the wide readers are. Wide readers think and speak well. They win the admiration, respect, and good opinion of others.

Reading expands the mind. In fact, many people consider it as one of the satisfying pleasures of humans. For it involves physical as well as mental activities.

Reading is primarily a mental activity

After all, you read with your mind and use your imagination. And you paint the setting of the detective thriller you are reading.

You use your mind to imagine the pain that the main character experiences as the story unfolds. You bring into play the different arguments and ideas brought up by the author in the book you are holding.

Develops a wide vocabulary

To read effectively, reading helps you develop a wide vocabulary through extensive reading. A skillful reader has a wide recognition vocabulary.

He may not know exactly what every word means. But he will have a good general idea of the meaning of the sentence. Reading makes you alert and curious about new words.

Other readers develop the dictionary habit. Every time they come across a strange word, they try to figure out what it can possibly mean by the context. If they cannot do this, they refer to the dictionary.

It develops intellectual curiosity

Likewise, reading develops intellectual curiosity by exposing you to a variety of materials. You learn to read by reading books of increasing difficulty and variety. As in other forms of activity, you learn by actually doing.

Reading trains you to have an active and open mind

Merely grasping the writer’s idea is not enough. You must make a positive response to what you read. Be an active, not a passive, reader. Develop the habit of drawing your own conclusions, the habit of active thinking, of agreeing or disagreeing with the author.

Keep your mind open; understand and weigh the ideas that you read. A practical part of active reading is the drawing of conclusions.

The four basic rules for effective reading and better comprehension

  • Try to read more and more. Remember the saying that practice makes perfect. Practicing in the correct way makes perfect.
  • Develop the habit of reading for main ideas. Look for the subject and predicate. Do not waste time on details or little words.
  • Learn to read with focus and concentration. Think of what you are reading. Do not let your attention wander somewhere else. Good readers read with understanding.
  • Learn to budget your time. Experiment with your reading time. Try purposely to read faster. Give yourself a time limit on specific material that you read.

A mental stimulation

Reading is a stimulating mental activity. It expands your reality and capability. You have so much to gain in discovering the joys of reading. Go ahead; grab a book right now!

Once there sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Keep your head looking straight ahead, lift your eyes to look at a spot on the wall just above eye level.

Count from 20 down to 10 in a slow manner until you feel your eyes start to strain. You will want to close them. Allow your eyelids to close and continue counting until you reach the number 1.

Then imagine that a long winding staircase with 20 steps is there in front of you. Move to the first step as you mentally say, “20. Going down, down, down. Deeper, deeper and ever deeper.

Then take the next step and say, “19. Deeper and deeper still”. Then move to the next step and say, “18. Going down, down, down. Deeper, deeper and ever deeper. Then the next saying, “17. Deeper and deeper still.”

Continue this until you reach the last step and imagine that the staircase has led you to a door. Open the door. Open it and see what is there. This is your special sanctuary where you are relaxed and safe at all times.

Once you enter your sanctuary perform the mental exercise given above

When finished with your exercises, count 1 to 10 telling yourself that you are becoming wide awake with every number. You will find that when you return to normal consciousness you are fully revitalized yet calm and relaxed.

Perform your self-hypnosis every day for 30 days and you will have created permanent changes in your mind and body. Once you decided what you want to achieve from your hypnotic session, write a few affirmations that reflect your desires. Make sure you word these statements in the first persona and also in the third person.

Do that as though you were talking to someone else with your name. For example if you wish to develop more confidence you would write “I grow more confident every day” and “[state your name] you grow more confident everyday”.

Also form a mental picture of what that new confident you looks like

Imagine how you will feel when you have that new found confidence. Exactly how does that “other” you walk with confidence? How does that “you” talk with confidence and the “other you” react to everyday life, stressful situations and other people?

How does that confident you think, dress and what is their approach life? This picture is very important. During trance you will picture that confident you standing before you and bring it to life in your mind’s eye.

Then you will step into this confident you and actually become that person. Afterwards you should recite your affirmations while thinking. Feeling and imagining you walk, talk, dress and approach life as this confident “other” you!

This form of self-hypnosis incorporates NLP and is used to directly program your subconscious. It will help you create that confident you in the real world. The affirmations act as post-hypnotic suggestions which reinforce the NLP work.

It also ensure your subconscious mind holds the correct “self-talk” that you are constantly involved in during the day. This inner dialogue can make or break a person and it is important to program your mind with positive messages.

To create a state of trance in order to perform these mental sequences is quite easy

First find a quiet restful place where you will not be disturbed…
