connections of charisma, love and health

Charisma, Love and Health

Charisma, Love and Health

The amazing story of my friend, Robert

This is an amazing story. It’s about my friend Robert. Robert is one of those really charismatic people. You know the kind I mean. Wherever he goes, people are just drawn to him, its truly a sight to behold.

At dinner the other night, Robert’s charm drew the waiters in and they conversed with him a great deal. However, when I spoke up, the waiters didn’t seem to pay much attention.

They may have even been a little dismissive. It was as if the only person at the table was Robert. The difference was Robert’s charisma. He has that special way about him that we all sometimes wished we had.

Anyway, in order to find out what that special something was, I decided to interview Robert. I captured about 2 hours worth of questions and answers with him.

Here is what I found out. Robert basically, though he might not say this directly, ‘loves’ people when he talks to them.

He has genuine concern and positive regard. He likes to focus in on one thing that he finds especially interesting about a person when he talks to them.

It doesn’t matter if he tells the person what that thing is or not, it seems to have the same effect. Try it and see what happens.

The connection to health

Now, how does that relate to health? Well you see, my article on the mind-body connection discusses the principle that Bernie Siegel wrote about in his book, Love, Medicine and Miracles.

It seems that when his cancer patients revolutionized their thinking to become more loving and accepting of others, their cancer often went into remission.

You see, what Robert does with people, is love them when he talks to them. Keep in mind that love is an action, it is not an idea that sits there, it is active.

Bernie’s cancer patients loved those around them more and as a result their health improved.

The connection to love and health

Now do you see the connection between charisma, love and health? By loving others, not only can your health improve, but your social life improves as well.

So what are you waiting for? Start looking for ways to love others more and watch your life improve in every aspect.

This could be the most important thing you’ll read today. Why not share it with a friend?

This article is for information purposes only. If you have or think you have a health problem, visit your doctor for diagnoses and treatment.

Your Personal Plan To Quit Smoking In Just 30 Days

Quit smoking in 30 days

The hardest days

The first 30 days as an ex-smoker are the hardest. You have a lot of hardship to cope with. If you make it through the first 30 days, it will get easier from that point on. Let’s take a look at a “plan of attack” to help you quit smoking in just 30 days. There are a few elements:

  1. a well devised plan (very necessary)
  2. few aids (not necessary)
  3. a lot of motivation (very necessary)

The plan

You need to plan exactly what you schedule will be and what activities you plan on having during these next 30 days. This is critically important because you want to insure that there are as little surprises and stressful events as possible.

Every time you go through stressful event you are at risk to start smoking again. Also, do not plan any diet or other radical life style changes during this month. You will have enough to deal with as it is, wouldn’t you?

You should also plan special time to exercise, do breathing exercises and sleep properly ( you can’t smoke while you sleep). The next thing to do in your plan is to get all the help you can get during this month.

To do that you can

  1. Ask your friend and family to help you quit smoking. Ask them to watch over you and make sure you are not tempted to smoke.
  2. Hang reminders at your computer, bathroom, kitchen etc. telling you that you are now an ex-smoker.
  3. Through away all Tobacco products. This seems obvious, but many smokers who try to quit still keep a cigarette stash somewhere in case they’ll need it…don’t be one of them.
  4. Try not to drink any alcohol during this month. That’s because we don’t want your will power and your judgement to weaken, which tends to be the case when you drink.

Some other things that can help

Stop smoking aids

There are a few stop smoking aids that were proven effective. The medicine called Zyban is an effective craving reducer (need prescription). There are also many herbal replacements to Zyban that do not require prescription.

Other methods are the shots and the laser treatment. All good methods, but quit pricey. Using these aids might help, but it can’t replace your will power.

You will power and motivation

An absolute must have. You won’t make it without a true desire to quit smoking. You really must find that desire within you. Your life will be so much better after you quit smoking, and you must find that desire for life and health.

That’s it. Your complete battle-plan for your first 30 days as an ex-smoker. So now that you have it, it’s totally up to you. Good luck!

Your Powerful Imagination (Part 2 of 2)

Please read the first part.

Continuation:

Okay, ready for the test? Gather all of your strength and “willpower.” Be sure NOT to do the following. Here it comes … DON’T think of a red fire truck!!

What happened?

You automatically thought of a red fire truck, right? This is because when the “will” and the “imagination” are in conflict, the imagination always wins. Most people spend a great deal of time telling themselves what they DON’T want, instead of what they DO want.

Even with every ounce of willpower they can muster, they somehow end up with more of the same old thing. That’s because the mind works in pictures, not words.

Imagination is the secret ingredient of life. If people imagine themselves “rich,” regardless of the amount of money they have, chances are they will be healthy and strong and live an abundant life.

If a rich man imagines himself poor or on the brink of losing his fortune, it is likely that trouble and sickness will plague him to the grave.

All that we are searching for in life is already present within ourselves. The sooner we come to believe in the power of our own imagination, the easier our lives will become. I challenge you to stretch your mind to the possibility of accomplishment beyond your present aspirations.

What if, in an attempt to reach your goals, you awakened the powerful latent genius within? How would you feel if you found the cure for AIDS or cancer? Think of the people who would benefit from your achievement.

The reality is that until everyone on the planet imagines a world of health and vitality for all, there will always be disease and woe. Take charge of your life now. Imagine your way to health and happiness and it will be so.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height.
Let the doctor worry about them. That is why you pay him/her.

Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

Keep learning. Learn more about crafts, gardening, or a new software or whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” And the devil’s name is Alzheimer’s.

Enjoy the simple things.

Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.

Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.

Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
